Multi-Purpose Historic Venue

Fully Adjustable Audiovisual and Theatre Solutions

St-James Theatre

Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 2015–2016

The prestigious historical former Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce building has been converted into one of Montreal’s most beautiful multi-purpose venues. With a seating capacity of more than 1,000, this architectural gem built between 1907 and 1909 in the neoclassical architectural style, is the host of many corporate and cultural events. The 930-square-metre main hall has a spectacular stained-glass ceiling suspended 22 metres above the floor. Along with the venue itself, the owners offer top quality theatre equipment that is completely adaptable to the client’s needs. This all-in-one venue greatly reduces the complexity of organizing an event.

Description

Transforming St-James Theatre into an adaptable space required XYZ Cultural Technology to supply and install an adjustable portable stage, a full sound system, movable stage lighting devices, two projection screens and two extremely powerful video projectors.

Furthermore, the limestone walls, with their bas relief and stained glass ornamentation, demanded to be illuminated. The architectural lighting system can easily be adjusted to enhance the atmosphere of the theatre according to specific event requirements.
